Lose Weight

What is it about losing weight that makes you uncomfortable? It might conjure up things like – diets, feeling deprived, exercising, willpower or lack thereof. And all of those things have made you fail every time you tried.

Everything I mentioned is focused on the physical body and yet, we seem to fail in our minds. If you are interested in changing your body you must train your mind first.

It makes no difference what protocol you are using to lose weight; whether Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, exercising at the gym, or even enlisting the help of a physician or surgeon for lap band surgery, you must still train and change your mindset to be successful.

That’s right, I said “Change.” That nasty word … yet it is constant and, if you are not aware that change happens whether you like it or not, then you are giving your power away.

In the words of the benevolent wizard, Dumbledore, in the Harry Potter novels “It is not our abilities that show us who we are; it is our choices.” So, it all comes down to “choice.”

Do you choose to be healthier, stronger, more energetic, slimmer, to fit into clothes that you love to wear, to love yourself and take responsibility for your life? Who doesn’t want all that?

What makes us “choose” things that are not in our best interest? Some of the reasons are just old habits that worked for us in the past but no longer work for us now. Perhaps there are some ideas or suggestions that were given to us by others that really weren’t true but have seeped into our subconscious mind and now we act on them.
